Church Mouse
Hi Everyone! It's me, Perley the Church Mouse!
I bet you're surprised that a church mouse has his own web page. Well, I'm pretty surprised, too, since I don't even know how to use a computer. But lots of surprising things have happened to me in the last few years.
You see, I live in a nice quiet country church in a little village called South Bridgton, Maine. A few years ago, I heard the church folks talking about how they might have to close the church. That meant that my family was going to have to move to a new church. But, we didn't want to go to a new church. We really like our church. So, all the church mice decided we better get busy and help our church folks and FAST!
Well, ever since then, lots of really neat things happened. We've helped our church folks with the work that needed to be done on the church and we've made lots and lots and lots of new friends. We have the best time having suppers and concerts and all sorts of things.
One of the neat things I get to do is help my church folks by writing a newsletter called the "Church Mouse Gazette". I let everyone know what's going on with the church folks AND the church mice. And, I helped my church folks make a church cookbook called, of course, "The Church Mouse Cookbook". And then, I started helping my church folks by writing a letter to them every week to let them know what's going on below the floorboards. Next thing you know, I had so many letters written that I put them all in a book called "Dear Church Folks...Letters from Perley". My church folks told me my book has gone to lots of faraway countries like Germany and France and Texas.
I guess it's like my Grand Mouse always says, you just never know what wonderful plans God has for you. I sure never thought I'd get to be a famous church mouse. Of course, being famous doesn't get me very far at our church...my Mom told me that famous author mice still have to clean their own mouse holes. Oh well!
Right now, we're all working on getting
our steeple fixed. It had to come down
because it was getting really weak.
We're having suppers and concerts and
selling cookbooks and my book and all
sorts of things. It takes a lot of money
to fix a steeple! It sure would help my
church folks if you traded some money
for one of our books!
One thing I noticed about my church folks is that when they're happy they have celebrations with lots of food. I'd sure appreciate if you bought one of my books because when that steeple goes back up, my church folks will be so happy that I bet I'll get a whole chocolate pie just for me.
Well, I have to scurry off now, it's time to clean up crumbs for my church folks. (They sure are good cooks!)
